This role offers the successful candidate the opportunity to make an immediate contribution, and take ultimate accountability for further embedding a commercially aligned people strategy. To achieve their ambitious growth plan whilst remaining agile in a continually evolving industry and regulatory landscape, this is a key role as the Society continues to implement and embed a significant infrastructure and organisational development programme; driving effective cultural and transformational change whilst maintaining the Society’s superior level of customer experience. Early priorities will also include onboarding of a new CEO (the final selection process is currently in play).
As a regular Board attendee, the CPO has executive accountability for People; Culture, Leadership, Talent, Reward, Health & Wellbeing, Diversity & Inclusion, and Internal Communications, supported by 9 direct reports. With further accountability for Facilities Management, this is a significant leadership role with of a total team of 53. In addition to the Principality Board, the CPO also plays an active contributory role to RemCo, and the Nomination and Governance Committee.
The current CPO has been with the Society for 5 years and is currently serving their notice period with the team, before leaving to commence a new venture.
In this search, we are looking for an experienced HR Director/CPO who thrives in a role that demands a strong balance of strategic and operational leadership. With significant experience of working at Board and Board Management Committee level the successful candidate will have developed superb presentation skills, together with the ability to form relationships with multiple stakeholders, and influence decisions more informally, with candour and empathy.
Strong generalist experience is critical, combined with a track record for leading organisational development and change, and increasing leadership capability. Financial services experience is a strong preference; a familiarity that will allow for immediate and effective contribution.
