Bidfood UK – the overall winners of this year’s Employee Experience Awards.
Outstanding and innovative approaches delivered with passion were the lasting impressions from this year’s UK Employee Experience Awards, held in London last week. And Vana Resourcing were there to judge the stand-out organisations in what is an increasingly significant trend for the HR industry.
The Awards invite businesses, ranging from SME-level up to the major corporates, to demonstrate their credentials across multiple categories, with special awards for the best overall employee engagement and experience.
Whilst the country’s largest food wholesalers, Bidfood UK, were the big winners on the day, Learning & Development was the focus for Vana Co-Director, Debbie Flowers, who was on the judging panel for this particular award. In a category being contested by River Island, drp, DPD, Marketing VF, BT Business & Blue Sky and EDAM Group, a similarly broad interpretation of employee experience was inevitable, according to Debbie.
“Some were admittedly more traditional, and others superbly innovative. They were truly aligned to their colleague groups, encouraging self-development through investment in a strong learning and development internal brand, and getting the most from the relevant tech and tools to create a holistic and blended development proposition that’s accessible to all.”
BT Business & Blue Sky (pictured above) won the category but other finalists made an equally strong impression during the decisive final round of presentations.
“The outstanding presentations for me were Marketing VF and River Island – they presented with a strong energy and passion, a proposition that was truly shaped to their respective people and organisations. On a more detailed level they demonstrated a deep understanding of how to create and embed a full talent cycle development programme, from pre-onboarding through to C-Suite development. And throughout they were continually measuring the return on investment through insightful data and analytics. In my opinion, Marketing VF (pictured below) and River Island were exemplary.
Overall, these awards provided an opportunity to do two things I love in this job – meeting new people and forming connections – and it was great to catch up with some clients who were also contributing on the day.”
The Employee Experience Awards are just one of several events that Vana Resourcing are plugged in to over the business year which offer valuable insight into an ever-changing HR landscape. We’ll continue to report back on our experiences over the course of 2018.
