Our client is a private equity backed organisation, operating as the largest provider of specialist services in Europe, and the market leader in the UK (with over c15000 colleagues across multiple sites).   They continue to grow exponentially in multiple countries through M&A.

The UK is the largest market and the business is on a continued journey of organisational maturity and development, as the rate of growth has surpassed early infrastructure.  Organisational change and transformation to drive a more consistent and improved employee experience is underway, whilst business continues to move at exponential speed.  It’s a scale-up organisation with the complexities and challenges of moving into a more corporate structure.

Reporting to the Group Reward Director with a dotted line to the UK HRD, you will shape and lead the reward strategy across the UK based business operations as a member of the UK HRSLT.  Focused on developing and evolving a competitive and coherent total reward proposition aligned to EVP to attract, engage and retain the best talent within a fast paced and competitive commercial marketplace.

Partnering multiple stakeholders across the business and managing external supplier partnerships, you will have seasoned relationship management skills combined with a sound commercial acumen, to support fair and robust high quality decision making around reward at a local level, and provide advice and challenge where necessary.  You’ll be adept at planning, costing and devising practical and affordable reward frameworks, principles, practices and policies in a business that operates at pace.  Ensuring that clear governance principles are established and reinforced across the reward cycle.

Driving communication and engagement strategies to ensure colleagues have access to clear and easy-to-find information on their reward, will be a fundamental step in enhancing their colleague experience.  This will include educating and coaching leadership cohorts and reward decision makers to support colleagues in all reward matters.   Priorities will also include; reviewing and evolving incentive plans across all cohorts.

You will manage, deliver, and provide technical expertise for the cyclical reward projects (annual pay review, annual bonus, benefits enrolment), and provide input and analysis for the annual budgeting process.  Regular cost analysis, financial modelling, and use of market data and HR metrics will be critical to support recommendations for change.

An experienced Reward leader, you’ll have the courage, energy and resilience to work in a complex and exceedingly fast-paced environment with multiple stakeholders and priorities.  Recognising what ‘good’ looks like, and being comfortable with ambiguity, you’ll relish the opportunity to present solutions and recommendations that can achieve the right balance in delivering both good reward and commercial success.  Needless to say your technical capability will be a given; generalist breadth of experience across compensation and benefits, demonstrating sound knowledge of tax implications and legal compliance requirements of reward, together with a good operational knowledge for key statutory elements such as NLW, Gender pay reporting, and GDPR.  If you thrive operating in a changing landscape, and are excited by the prospect of being part of a team transforming an organisation, this is definitely a role to explore.

Hybrid working; with team and leadership meetings in various locations across the UK.
