This is a pivotal opportunity for an accomplished HR leader to shape and deliver the People agenda across a complex, multi-country organisation at a time of significant change and ambition. As People Director for the UK and Europe, you will play a central role within the Chief People Officer’s leadership team, translating strategy into action and ensuring that People priorities are embedded effectively across all business units.
Reporting directly to the Chief People Officer, you will act as the bridge between strategic intent and operational delivery – bringing to life the organisation’s culture, values, and talent priorities through consistent, pragmatic, and high-quality People execution.
Partnering closely with the Talent & Culture Director, you will ensure that the company’s approach to values, succession, and talent management is deeply integrated into day-to-day operations, creating a culture where people can perform, grow, and thrive. This role carries broad responsibility for the strategic leadership of People Partnering, Employee Relations and Governance across multiple jurisdictions.
You will oversee the delivery of all aspect of People support for complex transformation programmes – including organisational restructures, outsourcing initiatives, and TUPE transfers – ensuring that change is well-managed, compliant, and delivered with care. Alongside this, you will provide leadership to the People Partnering teams, fostering capability, consistency, and confidence across both UK and European operations.
Success in this role will require a balance of strategic vision and operational discipline. You will need to navigate multiple markets and regulatory environments with ease, ensuring governance, compliance, and performance standards remain high. You will act as a trusted advisor to senior business leaders, offering challenge, perspective, and partnership in equal measure.
You will bring extensive senior HR leadership experience across complex, multi-country environments, ideally within an agile, matrixed environment. An ability to lead through others – developing, motivating, and empowering high-performing teams while building trust and collaboration across functions. This is a role for a pragmatic, commercially minded HR leader who thrives on translating strategy into meaningful delivery. You will be comfortable operating at pace, leading through ambiguity, and influencing senior stakeholders in a matrixed, international environment.
Above all, you will bring a values-led approach – someone who combines strategic clarity with empathy, resilience, and a genuine belief in the power of people to drive business success. The role is UK-based, with flexibility to work remotely and regular travel to London and European sites. In return, you will join an organisation of circa 1000FTE that is evolving with purpose and ambition, offering the opportunity to make a lasting impact on its people, culture, and performance.

I worked with Debbie initially as she introduced me to OVO Energy. I subsequently worked with Debbie and Jo at Vana to recruit almost my entire senior HR team! From Senior HR leads to Reward. Vana really understand the importance of cultural fit. I would not hesitate to use Vana again or recommend them - They know the market really well and always put forward great candidates.
